Sam Halstead

Sam has extensive experience in media and public relations, working both in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Sam has worked in marketing and communications roles with public and private sector clients and has an extensive knowledge of how to influence consumers in the marketplace through integrated marketing and communications. 

Sam started with Ideas Shop in 2009 and having worked as a journalist in New Zealand and as a public relations consultant in the United Kingdom, he is an experienced writer and has excellent relationships with the news media.

Sam has been involved in a number of key public information campaigns including Going Digital, Ministry for Culture and Heritage; TV TakeBack, Ministry for the Environment and RightLight, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority’s efficient lighting programme. 

He won a number of public relations awards including two Chartered Institute of Public Relations Scotland prizes and received two prestigious European SABRE award nominations.

Sam has a Bachelor of Communication Studies from Auckland University of Technology.
