Mark Russell

Mark has more than 25 years’ international media and public relations experience. He’s plied his trade in New Zealand, in the cut-throat world of London’s Fleet Street tabloids and broadsheets, and in post-Handover Hong Kong.
He’s covered news, business, features and sport and as a travel writer has written about Welsh mountaineering schools, followed the Mississippi from its source to St Louis and watched the sun rise over Burma’s Bagan plains.
Mark’s excellent knowledge of the New Zealand media landscape and personal contacts with many of the country’s leading journalists means his media relations skills are in high demand. He’s at home assisting clients with media training, media placement – whether the target is print, television, radio, Internet or social media – and crisis management.
Mark has also advised many of his clients in how to better communicate with their own people and stakeholders. He manages the production of a range of regular newsletters and magazines, from writing and editing through to design and print.
Mark is chair of Leave No Trace New Zealand.
