Giving through public relations

PR firms are specialists in raising public awareness. And for us, nothing is more important than raising public awareness and doing our bit for sustainability communications. We take sustainability communications as seriously as we take all public relations. For us sustainability means people as well as planet; giving as well as being green. We believe that we need strong, sustainable communities to achieve our environmental aims. And our efforts have been recognised at the 2009 Sustainable Business Network awards (Wellington and Southern region). Public awareness is important, but people must have the time and resources to care. That starts with being a great place to work.

We do up to 10 percent of our work for free

We use our expertise in sustainability communications to support non-profit groups and emerging enterprises. They have the skills to work at a grassroots level. As public relations professionals, we have the skills to help them with all their public relations: media relations, writing, lobbying, and raising public awareness. Together we achieve more for New Zealand than we ever could alone.

“I really admire the work that Ideas Shop has done with and for community organisations. Their contributions have been thoughtful, informed and generous.

"Ideas Shop is an outstanding example of corporate generosity. They have rare skills and are prepared to share them for the social causes they believe in.” Iain Hines, JR McKenzie Trust.

We work with:

The Green Stuff – Communicating Sustainability Through Action

We communicate our dedication to sustainability through our actions. Unlike some PR firms, we travel green – walking or taking a bus whenever possible. We recycle, print double-sided and compost at work. We use energy-efficient heat pumps, green cleaning products and save power by not having a lift. We buy New Zealand made wherever possible and prefer suppliers who share our environmental values. We're on Green List’s register of eco-friendly PR firms and specialise in sustainability and non-profit media relations.
